Welcome!

This site is mostly a journal where I write down the occasional thought that probably should have stayed in my head. Instead of letting them disappear, I am putting some of them here.

When I am not doing that, I am usually coding, playing games, or doing whatever I am fixated on at the time. Every now and then I might also write about those things like the projects I am working on, things I have learned, or random problems I have tried to solve.

I also love music. In fact, I have been playing the piano for almost 20 years. Between that and programming, I like to refer to myself as a “keyboardist".

This site was originally hosted on Blogger, later migrated to a self-hosted Mastodon instance, and now it’s generated using Hugo.

Anyway, feel free to look around.

Oh my god! It literally fixed every complaints I had about my framework 13, especially the haptic trackpad. That’s the only thing I missed from my macbook. Can not wait!

Why can I take out a loan to buy pizza now?

Listen, I defended DLSS frame gen when they came out. Yes, the frames are fake generated out of thin air and you don’t actually get any real latency benefit or whatever. But at least they are not that noticeable when you are just playing normally and not actively looking for flaws, and they do feel smoother. But DLSS 5 just looks objectively bad. Grace looks like she went through plastic surgery…

Laws in New York and California will influence the blue states and laws in Texas and Florida will influence the red states. Soon, all the us states will require age verification. The EU is also pushing hard in that direction. This is becoming ridiculous.

Also, how are they going to enforce the law? Do they understand the meaning of open source? Will running open source software become illegal now?

I fear this only means fewer company will be willing to support linux, especially natively.

I don’t know why I keep accidentally typing “are” instead of “can” when I am typing fast (without even realizing it)

Truly heartwarming to see amazon spend millions on ads trying to convince people not to use their spyware
